Here is a description of some club projects...
As we have for the past several years, our Rotary club has cleaned up two miles on State Road 23 in Granger. A tradition has begun - breakfast at Eddies Steak Shed. It makes it worth coming to the clean up!
This is a project that has been put aside for the past few years due to the changes of how the program was run. However, this year our club worked on not just one home but two! With many the work is made easy and that's what happened when two Saturday mornings were busy with club members creating beautiful landscaped homes for two families.
What a great time this project always is - one that just makes you feel good! Several children had their dreams come true when they had a chance to have a special Christmas on behalf of Granger Sunrise Rotary. The children went shopping at Target and lunched at Burger King. This year there was a special treat - area school children make "goodie bags" filled with candy and fruit for each of the children to enjoy.
On a chilly winter day members stood at Sams Club ringing the bell for Salvation Army. At least we were able to be in their foyer, but that still didn't keep the cold wind from rushing through the doors! Maybe they should think about having this project in the summer!
